Reasearching into filming roles

Each of us has to have one main role for the shooting day but we can also help each other and switch over where nescarry as Media production is very much a collaboration but peoples strengths need to be used to benift each other and the team as a whole so this is why we split it up.

The key roles are:

Director- scripts, choosing actors, working with the sound/ editors to produce the final outcome of the film, staying in budget and much more.

Camera opperator - filming all of the content and using the shot list and story board to make sure nothing has been missed or needs to be added where necsary, set up film equiptment and put it away.

Editor - taking the film footage such as dialogue, sound and sometimes GCI to create the final outcome of the film.

Art director- looking after location, props, costume, makeup and making sure continuity is used throughout

Producer - oversees everything and keeps the scedual eg; what time things should be done by and if we are running over.

As a group we decided that:

- grace is the editor

- Tiggy is the director

- Freya is the Camera opperator

and as a group we will all be the producer and art director depending on how the shoot goes with the roles everyone is given.

I am being the camera opperator because I have a clear idea of what I would like all the shots to look like and give off the correct atmosphere. I also feel fairly confident with the camera in terms of how to set it up, take it down and what all the parts of the camera do which will help with the time efficancy on shoot day.

To prepare before the shoot I need to make sure i have all the correct camera equiptment that i need and would need incase of any changes. I would also need to make sure the camera is fully charged and has enough memory on it.

The materials I would need to bring with me would be the shot list, story board, camera and camera stand.

My role is important as it is the base of how the title sequence is made, without and footage there would be no sequence.

I think the only thin i think that may being a challange is remembering how to use all of the camera automatically without asking someone for a bit of help. So to prevent this i will probably need to have a practise with one of the cameras to get really farmiliar with it.
