Today we had our first camera workshop and were shown the tripod and the camera also the different lenses. The camera that we were using was the Black Magic 4K mini URSA. We were taught how to correctly hold and carefully carry the camera so reduce risk of damage, for example when u give the camera to another person you would say 'yours and they would say 'mine' so both people are aware of who is responsible for the camera or any camera items.
level is used to balance the camera on the tripod, so it is equal you do this by adjusting the screw to that the bubble ends up in the middle of the circle.
To focus you turn the first wheel clockwise and to zoom you turn the third wheel clockwise as well. You must make sure to zoom in to focus then zoom out again so that everything is very clear no matter how zoomed in or out the shot is, when filming a person, we were told that the focus point should be the eye as it is the most detailed part of the face/body.
Lastly striking, this means taking apart the camera from the tripod and putting everything away in its designated spot. This includes taking off the battery from the camera, removing the camera from the tripod and putting the lens cap back on the lens, putting the camera into the box making sure to clip it and lastly pushing the tripod back together and unscrewing the handle and putting it into the bag to zip it up.
